For the first time in my 65 year life I had seasonal allergies this year… REALLY bad. I couldn’t breathe at all. Until I tried Afrin. WOW. Literally I went from full stop to 100% clear in 2 or 3 minutes. Because you are not supposed to use it more than 3 days or you can get “addicted” to it (my doctor says your sinuses will stay swollen and inflamed unless you use Afrin if you use it too long) I would cycle on and off of it or use it only so I could sleep at night. Even with that drawback it is phenomenal stuff. A true lifesaver.This particular type was mentholated and that was ok but I like the unscented or unflavored kind better (personal preference).

What can I say? This stuff just works. I returned from a 2-week vacation and within 24 hours came down with a really bad cold: sinus congestion sneezing/sniffling raspy sore throat cough etc. I also use a CPAP machine that uses a “pillow” mask that covers only my nose. So if I can’t breathe through my nose I can’t use my CPAP which means I’m not going to get a lot of sleep.I’ve tried a lot of options (OTC meds) to clear the congestion and none of the work as well as Afrin Severe Congestion! There are other versions of Afrin but this one works better for me. I use it only as long as I need it — usually I’m through the nasal stuff within a few days after coming down with a upper respiratory bug — so I’ve never dealt with “rebound” congestion. I just use two sprays per nostril in the morning and then the same 12 hours later.I keep this on hand for those times when I really need it — it’s a good product that does precisely what it’s supposed to do.

“Afrin” Congestion Reliever for severe congestion works very well for chronic congestion problems.I rate it excellent (especially at night when congestion is at its worse). It penetrates into the nasalcavity and lubricates the passages. It does not “burn” or irritate when used.I rate it “Five-Stars”!

I’ve had sinus issues for most of my adult life. This has lead me to use Afrin or similar products on a daily basis to keep my sinuses clear and free from infection. The Afrin no drip severe congestion (with a little bit of menthol nice) was my go-to for a while. Now my new favorite is “Vicks Sinex Severe” which has a nicer pump mist and seems to work better and last longer. I’d recommend that product over this one but for some reason I still keep both on hand… so I can’t give it less than a 4* rating.
